Rough Times for TLC

Here's my last post at the main site:

Good grief. There’s only so much a person can take. I got up this morning, showered, gave the kids a bite to eat and was going to sit down, relax and read my newspapers. First I thought I’d turn on the computer and check my emails. When I pulled up this site the malware appeared again and my heart sunk. Jeremy got to work on it right away and it seemed like the problem was fixed, but this time the hackers installed their rotten code on a couple of dozen pages. It looks like Jeremy got that taken care of, and took additional steps to keep it from happening again.

While Jeremy was working on things I was staring helplessly at the computer, and talking to the people at Go Daddy who insisted there was nothing wrong with my site even though I had just received three emails telling me there was. My finger hovered above the “delete blog” button more times than I’d care to admit. But I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t bring myself to delete thousands of posts and comments. I can’t count the sleepless nights, or the number of 15 hour days between my day job and this blog. I hated the thought of just deleting it all, but it sure was tempting. It’s not like blogging pays well. Days like today it doesn’t pay anything, the rest of the time I may make enough from my ads to buy a twelve pack of Diet Coke. Seriously.

I probably could easily walk away if this was a blog about crafts, sports, entertainment or some other subject that really doesn’t matter in the whole scheme of things. But I just can’t sit idly by watching the radicals who control our government and do nothing. I’m one of those Americans who truly appreciates what our Founders willed to us. I’m not about to watch it all be destroyed without at least having my say.

I can’t thank Jeremy Sarber enough for all of the time he’s put into helping me out with this. Now it’s just a matter of figuring out what to do to make sure the evil hackers can’t get in again. Who knows, maybe it’s fixed, but I’m thinking it’s time for a new web host. Hopefully I can get a refund, because I’m paid up through 2012.

Whatever, as Scarlett O’Hara said, I’ll think about that tomorrow. I was in need of a little break before the hackers struck. You know – life happens. Family members get sick. The kids want to play with their mom. The husband wants to chill out with his wife. And a blogger just needs a break. I think I just need a day. A day to relax. A day to have fun. A day to dance.

Thank God for Jeremy.

I've updated my version of the blogroll with this address and have posted an announcement: http://thecampofthesaints.wordpress.com/2010/05/02/the-lonely-conservative-was-hacked-again/

Let me know when you're back at the .com site and I'll update.

Godspeed.
