If you only read one political article today, I recommend James Madison to America: This is what we Warned you About by Jerry Bowyer. He reminds us of Federalist #10 which warns us of the dangers of factionalism, which is now running amok in the Democratic party.
Speaking of the Democrats, I was happy to miss their debate last night. Unfortunately, I had to hear about it on the news and the radio today, so I wasn't entirely spared. From what I heard Hillary won, but really, who cares?
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Charles Gibson and George Stephanopolous from ABC News actually asked some tough questions of the candidates. Good for them. I heard the question Gibson asked Obama about raising the capital gains tax. He said that Bill Clinton lowered it from 28% to 20% and revenues went up, then George W. Bush lowered it to 15% and revenues went up again. Obama then had to revert to his usual Marxist theology by saying basically that some hedge fund managers make too much money and it's just not fair. Blah, blah, blah.
Things are looking better and better for John McCain. The longer the Democrats battle, the more they show their true colors to the American people. That's never good news for Democrats.

Poor Obama is whining about being asked real questions. He shoul be allowed to just give a prepared speech, say "Hope, Change,Yes we can", wait for the applause, and call it a debate.

Now I know that ABC News must have done a good job moderating that debate. My newspaper was highly critical of them today in the opinion section. I also heard that Daily Kos is whining about it.
Good Job, ABC!
