Un-Inspiring

It's Obama vs. McCain. Democrat vs. RINO. Left winger vs. never afraid to embrace left-wingers. We have the two candidates chosen for us by the media.

During Republican primary debates John McCain argued that he is the most conservative candidate. Since he became the presumed nominee, McCain has done whatever he can to appear liberal or moderate. While this may help him pick up some angry Hillary supporters, without the conservative base it is doubtful he can win the election in November.

McCain's choice of running mate could be just what he needs to win in November or it could doom his candidacy. Let's hope he makes a wise decision.

Un-inspiring is right. I won't keep my fingers crossed for McCain do make a "wise choice".

Maybe he'll pick a Republican.

He'd be wise to choose a conservative Republican and accept counsel from the conservative. Just don't hold your breath.

He needs a trump card. I'm trying to think of a good choice. I have a few ideas but need to think about it some more.

I like Romney-he'd be great on the economy. Or Bobby Jindal, he's young but has more accomplishments than Obama.

I'm surprised Romney didn't come out on top. Maybe because his style looked to clean-cut big business. No doubt from an economic standpoint he probably would excell where the others would fall short. I think it would be a decent choice but I think McCain is going to look for someone more appealing to the minority and Hillary supporters. Rice comes to mind for 2 reasons. 1, she obviously is Afro-american and 2, being female maybe some of Hillary's supporters supported her on the premise that they would just like a female in the White House. Just speculation. I'm not opposed to a female President. I thought Margaret Thatcher did a good job in the United Kingdom (1979-1990) from what I've read about her.

Rice wouldn't be a bad choice, but the dems would love it-more ammo in their Bush's Third Term argument.

You're right that's the catch.
I think Barry should ask Elliot to be his running mate. If you're going to destroy things, might as well go all out.
