Don't Sit Out the Election

It has been suggested that if McCain is president, the Republicans in Congress will just go along with anything he wants, because he is a fellow Republican. That could be true.

But what if those Republicans are paying attention to what is going on with their base? There is angst, to put it mildly. The smart ones could use it as an opportunity to oppose McCain if his policies start tilting to the left. The more vehemently they oppose him, the more their conservative base will adore them. They could even pick up Independent and (gasp) Democratic voters because they would be seen as the mavericks. Could it happen? I don't know, but it sure would be interesting.

I just read a new poll and it's got Romney 75 points over McCain! Could the tides be changing?

Where's that, Kansas?

No, there's this blogger named "The Lonley Conservative" who's running a poll. It's got Romney up 75 points over McCain. It's also got RON PAUL a distant second, but second just the same!

Oh yeah, that poll:)

Will it really matter if the republicans in congress follow MCCain? Last time I checked the congress was controlled by the Democrats.

You are correct! But think about it. If McCain reaches too far across the aisle, and embraces the plan of a democrat (rather than say, just agreeing with it) he will be perceived as giving in to Democrats. The base of his party won't like it. They will certainly embrace whoever has the b@lls to stand up to him.

Poor Romney. He keeps spending more and more money, and he is useing all the dirty tricks he can but he still can't get it together. If the Far Right loves him so much, why did they wait so long to come out for him? Could it be because HE IS REALLY A LIBERAL pretending to be a conservative? He did a complete about face. This guy is not what he says he is. Don't trust him.

I now know for sure that I will never vote for Romney.I simply won't vote. If I don't vote, and that turns out to be a vote for the Dems.,thats OK with me. I figure that Romney or the Dems. will run this country into a wall. I'd rather it not be a Rep. that does that does that to our country.

I just get creeped out when I see his face on the news shows. For a guy that gets no media coverage, I sure see his face alot. when he comes on, I just change the station.

In my opinion, Romney is a fake. He remindes me of John Kerry.

I do think one of the reasons Huckabee is staying in the race is to get in Romneys way. I don't have any problem with that.He has a right to stay in for as long as he wants to.

When Bill Clinton won there were many Democrats that did not like him at all. They all came around though and put him in office. He is also very well thought of by most Democrats today.
